How do you describe Malawi?
I love meeting & chatting with new people and hearing their experiences. Its a bit like the "people watching" fun where you wonder who they are, what they are doing here, what their story is... its fun like that at airports, when you know there is always a story behind every person. Well anyway, its a bit like that, but even better as you get to find out all of the stories... Today I chatted with Emma (UK chick who came on a holiday 15 years ago and has never left) who described her time in Malawi as follows…. She was saying that there's something about Africa for her that you just can't describe, something that touches your heart and no explanations or stories can really paint the picture that an experience of your own can ever match! You can describe the scenary, the people, their lovely smiles, the living conditions, the landscape, the wild animals, the giant red Africa sun setting over a dusty land, but how do you describe what it does to you, how the people are, how it makes you feel, how it lifts your spirits, refreshes you, challenges you, pisses you off (quote!), inspires and motivates you, and breaks your heart all at the same time. In her 15 years of traveling back and forth she said the only people who really understand it, or really understand her, are those who have seen it for themselves. Interesting thoughts.
